About Bohlale Safari & Golf Tours. www.bohlaletours.co.zaThe word "BOHLALE" is a South African word from the "siTswana" ethnic group meaning "knowledge or intelligence". BOHLALE Safari & Golf Tours was registered as a Company on 31 July 2007. Commencing in August 1996, Anthony organises an annual five day "KHUMBULA" Golf tournament to the magical Hans Merensky Estate, Phalaborwa which is well patronised by South Africans, averaging 40 golfers of which 20% are ladies. Lately the tournament has attracted foreigners from Korea, USA and Canada. After the Hans Merensky golf tournament, a four night Kruger National Park Safari can extend the tour. We own a registered Toyota Quantum 14 seater micro-tour-bus which we use to transport tourists throughout South Africa. Anthony is also a registered National Tour Guide and qualified "PDP" licenced driver. The Toyota is a very comfortable drive with individual bucket seats and is equiped with a public address system to communicate sighting details and information to patrons in the bus. Anthony is enthusiastic about personally accompanying tourists to our fantastic Wildlife National Parks, spectacular landscapes & wonderful coastal biomes in a Private, Safe, Reliable & Personalised airconditioned microbus touring environment. Overnight touring parties of 4 / 8 persons is recommended, with a maximum of 13 can be accommodated for short localised tours. The more passengers the less the pricing per person! Competitive pricing excludes meals as we have found that patrons prefer their own menu at selected restaurants on overnight tours. However Anthony can prepare great meals while we safari in Wildlife National Parks at an agreed pre-determined pricing. Secure & safe accommodation is arranged at selected Hotels, accredited Bed & Breakfast enterprises and National Park chalets with easy access to fine South African restaurants or around a traditional South African “braaivleis”. Passenger Liability & Public Liability Insurance for tourists is in place to the value of R18,000,000- together with the necessary 'PDP' drivers licence which is current. Bohlale Safari & Golf Tours is also 'Bonded' to SATSA [Southern Africa Tourism Services Association] (Member # 1874). Due to our abundance of SUNSHINE we in South Africa are outdoor people. We love our Soccer, Rugby, Golf, Cricket, Swimming, Sea Surfing, Horse riding, Travelling, Camping and "braaivleis" (open fire barbecue). We are also recognised as Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment status of a "Level Four Contributor". All your South African travel arrangements, accommodation, meals, special events required are arranged by Anthony. Golfing is my favourite recreation playing off a 12 handicap. We can play golf in Pretoria, South Africa for 343 days a year, the other 20 days might be raining or too cold (temperature less than 10 degrees Centigrade). Only the brave and desperate play in these conditions! Only on Christmas day and New Year's day are the golf courses closed. About South AfricaExplore this magnificent land with BOHLALE Safari & Golf Tours. www.bohlaletours.co.za Sunshine, sunshine and more sunshine. We boast an average daily sunshine from 7.5 to 9.5 hours. (London 3.8, New York 6.9, Johannesburg 8.5) South Africa, originated some 3,5 billion years ago, as part of the most “stable” of all the floating continents. Africa was previously part of Gondwanaland & originally the Kaapvaal Craton, which oldest rock-formation on earth lies near Barberton, Limpopo province & Northern Cape. South Africa is on average 1150 meters [3,775 feet] above sea level. The largest known mineral Sill or Lopolith, just below the Earth's surface, extending some 250 X 350 X 8 kilometers deep lies between Rustenburg in the West and Lydenburg in the East and Polokwane in the North. The largest recorded meteorite impact in the World (size of Table Mountain) struck the Vredefort Dome some 2 billion years ago said to creating the richest gold, platinum, diamond & mineral area on earth and the theory also mentions it started ‘life’ as single-cell organisms (bacteria) on Earth. There have been five other meteorite impacts in South Africa, the most recent being the "Tswaing" crator only 200,000 years ago, 20 kilometres north of Pretoria. The Karoo was part of a shallow sea until about 300 million years ago. Ancient Reptiles, Gorgonopsians of the Permian period and Dinosaurs of the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods roamed this area from 248 million to 65 million year ago. We arrange a visit to the largest private fossil collection in the world. Australopithecus, biped personages, our ancestral link lived not too far away only 3 million years ago (Let us explore the ‘cradle of humankind’). History now reveals the San / Khoi-Khoi people roamed the South African coastal areas 100,000 years ago. However 15,000 years ago, a village of scientific proportions existed in the Kaapsehoop, Mpumalanga, known as Adam’s Calendar, long before the 'Stonehenge' occupation in England. South Africa boasts the largest mammals on Earth. On land the African Elephant & the Southern Right Whale at Sea. The Cheetah is the fastest animal at 120km/h. Explore this magnificent land with BOHLALE Safari & Golf Tours. Sight and identify the BIG 5 and little 5 in the Kruger National Park. We boast the richest Flora on Earth with over 23,000 plant types, of which close to 19,000 are endemic. We are spoilt for Glorious and the most unusual Golf courses, where wild animals are often seen. Try our Hans Merensky, Sun City, Elements, Legend signature and their Extreme 19th (Longest par three in the world 567 metres, the only way to the top of this 430m high mountain Tee is by helicopter). On our way to the "Lowveld" and Kruger National Park we also view the largest man-made forest in the World, visit the Grandest Green Canyon, with wonderful waterfalls, pot holed river gorges and fern forested landscapes. We arrange scuba diving off the Aliwal Shoal at Umkomaas, where you can swim with ragged tooth and other shark specie. Also a Great White Shark cage dive which we arrange at Mossel Bay on the Garden Route opr Gans Bay near Hermanus. Whale watching can be seen off the Southern coast from June to October. Large Leatherback and smaller Loggerhead Turtles can be seen on the beaches of Sodwana & Kosi Bay from November to January, laying eggs which hatch after 70 & 50 days respectively. The First Democratic elections in South Africa were held in April 1994. Visiting the Apartheid Museum opens our eyes to a South Africa governed by a white minority. Let us not forget the struggle by the black majority. Never again must we let a government rule without being accountable to the People & vast Cultural minorities South Africa is made up of. We have the largest economy in Africa, our infrastructure compares favourably with any in the World. HIV & AIDS in South Africa is a dilemma and promiscuous sex is highly discouraged. The tap water is drinkable but Bohlale Safari & Golf Tours supplies bottled purified spring water on all tours. We think our South African 'Rainbow Nation' cuisine is the finest in the world.
